AUSTIN — A Texas chemical company whose Port Neches plant exploded the day before Thanksgiving in 2019 will pay the state $12.6 million in penalties to resolve clean air violations that occurred after December 2022. The group filed for bankruptcy following the explosion, which resolved its earlier violations. Under the terms of the settlement, TPC Group is required to repair or replace its equipment.
