DALLAS — Three professors at Dallas College lost their First Amendment, due process and property deprivation claims against the school after it abandoned a “rolling three-year contracts scheme” in favor of automatically renewing one-year terms, allegedly in retaliation for their criticism of the college administration. They could not point to an injury-in-fact under Article III because, in Texas, tenured professors only have a property interest in not getting terminated without cause, not in their tenured status itself.
